To make the bumper cranes more corrosive resistant Sto-Away Power Cranes announces that they have begun applying an ELECTRO-COAT to their bumper cranes. This process consists of an 8 stage pretreatment which includes a full immersion in zinc phosphate and sealer and provides excellent edge coverage. This process is Dexter Chassis Group’s TTC 490 which has been certified by TACOM (U.S. Army Tank and ARMAMENTS COMMAND) This process also consists of an epoxy coating which provides 1,500 + hours of salt and spray protection without the use of heavy metals. It provides a more complete corrosion protection.

Sto-Away Power Crane

Unlike our competitors our crane has as Standard a hand guard, which protects the operator from getting into the pinch point area while setting up the crane. Grease ports throughout all of the bearings and pulleys so that the owner is able to grease their crane without actually having to take the crane apart. An emergency kill switch is added to the crane so that if the hand control goes bad etc. then you are able to de-energize the power to the winch by a single push of a button. After you are finished doing whatever maintenance needs to be completed you push a reset button on the circuit breakers and you are now ready to go on with your lifting needs. Also a water proof control switch with LED lighting to indicate the power is on to the control plug, with an on/off switch to keep people from tampering with it, while not in use. We have a twin inner core that keeps our cable from jumping off of the pulley at the top of our boom. We also use 3m reflective logos so they are visible at night time.

If you are doing any below ground work like lifting pumps etc. we have our exclusive option called our BLGL winch; a positive cable attachment. When you get to the end of the drum the cable will do a reverse wrap instead of possibly coming off of the drum. On our standard winches, it is fastened on with a set screw therefore you always have 3 – 4 wraps of cable on the drum when you are lifting from the ground up. Our optional Feather-Lite Kit protects your worker even further by having a controlled raising and lowering not only of the cranes mast but also the cranes boom protecting you from unnecessary Workmen’s Comp claims.
